Buzzing with Creativity: Mrs. Marzan's 2nd Graders Explore Insects! In an end of unit activity that was the bee's knees, Mrs. Marzan's 2nd grade class delved into the world of insects, learning about their fascinating characteristics and habitats. To cap off the unit, students got their creative juices flowing by crafting their own unique insect keychains, a project that had everyone buzzing with excitement. This hands-on activity not only solidified their newfound knowledge but also gave them a "key" to unlocking creativity.

This month, we’re celebrating Maverick Hansen for receiving the Kindness Award! Maverick’s teacher shared, "Maverick is always very aware of what’s happening around him. He is often the first to jump up to fix or straighten something in the classroom that is amiss. He is very sweet in offering his assistance to others, comforting and looking out for his friends when they seem upset, apologizing when needed, and sharing his supplies. Last Friday, Mr. Thurgood's Third Grade class celebrated Moon day and connection with our solar system unit. These pictures are images of the students creating the different phases of the moon with Oreos. They completed other activities such as a flip book and a mystery science activity where they were able to observe the moon phases. Mr. Thurgood

Miss Carlile’s Fourth Grade class was investigating how they could see light around corners by using a maze, a flashlight, and two mirrors. They got to test every group member’s idea before coming up with a final plan together.

Mrs.McGinnis’s 5th Grade class did a fun science experiment to discover what each mystery substance was! They used their knowledge of properties of matter to decipher each substance.

Third Graders in Mrs. Roberts's class enjoyed munching on Moon Pies while they listened to Weezie and the Moon Pies during their Moon Day celebration. Moon Day was a culminating activity to celebrate all of the great things they've learned in their astronomy unit in CKLA.

Mrs. Reynolds first grade class had so much fun at our Valentine's party last week. We made a craft, played different games and decorated cookies. We are so lucky to have such amazing parents that helped put on the party. We were for sure feeling the love!!

Mrs. Averett’s class, along with the other second grade classes, have been learning about Westward Expansion. As they have been playing the game of Oregon Trail, they have learned about the life of Pioneers journeying westward, making decisions on supplies and navigating challenges of the journey. This has been a fun, engaging activity.

Mrs. Johnson’s class is looking at characters from different perspectives.

Kindergarten has a blast learning about coding robots! We have taken time to see how we can move the mouse robots from square to square and see how we need to be precise in giving directions!
